Stand With Survivors was founded in 2015 by LGBTQ+ activist Ivy Bottini, artist and survivor advocate Lili Bernard, and activist and professor Dr. Caroline Heldman to abolish the statute of limitations for prosecuting rape in California. Since that time, we have grown to a national network of activists fighting for survivor justice. Stand With Survivors has orchestrated dozens of protests and activist art events, provided survivor support at trials, and actively worked to pass the following bills:

AB 848, Safe Learning Environments Act (2025): Broaden reporting requirements for sexual abuse in schools; enhances employee training; creates a statewide database for tracking egregious claims of sexual violence.
SB 690, Phoenix Act 2 (2024): Extended the statute of limitation for domestic violence crimes to seven years.
AB 452, Justice for Survivors Act (2024): Abolished the time limit for filing child sex abuse cases that occur after January 1, 2024.
AB 749, Restraint in Trade Act (2019): Banned "no rehire" provisions in settlement agreements for sexual harassment cases.SB 218SB
AB 218, Child Victims Act (2018): Extended the statute of limitations for filing child sexual abuse cases from 26 to 40.
SB 331, STAND Act (2018): Banned NDAs in sexual assault and harassment cases.
SB 813, Justice for Victims Act (2016): Abolished the time limit for criminal prosecution of sexual assault.
